I just finished a new pic today. I did this as a practice for armatures and Yafray (yes, give me all your reflections!!!)
Maybe someone recognize the two guys and the funny looking thing in the middle. If not, it’s from an animation film of the 80’s called “Time Masters” (German: “Herrscher der Zeit”; French: “les maîtres du temps”) made by Rene Laroux and Moebius. This film is really a peace of art and if you didn’t see it yet, try to get a copy of it.
I’m not that experienced with UV-unwrapping but you can get a good grip of it with Wings. You can virtually split the mesh into seperate regions which will be seperated in the bitmap later. You can also define seams where the unwrapping should begin. I advice you to look at the Wings forum. There is a thread with a good HowTo over AutoUV.
To transport the UV-cords into Blender I use an external plugin called “VRML 2.0 export with UV” but as I’m not at work right now (where all my nice bookmarks are also) I don’t know the author or the link at the moment. It must probably be KayosIII, I guess. Have a search at the Wings forum.
Tobur: Your stuff is really cool.
Darn it. I saw the picture, but I can’t even remember what the (long) story is about. I just seem to remember that it was great, but even your drawing can’t help me conjure up any memories. Oh well. I guess it’s time I retire in an asylum (for senile folks like me)…
The story is about the young boy Piel who is stranded and alone on a dangerous planet. His father has left him an egg coloured in red and white (aah, that’s this funny thing in the middle ) which is just a microfone. On the other side theres the spacetraveler Yaffar who has the receiver. He tries to get to the planet to resque the boy. On his travel he makes a stop on a planet to pick up an old friend of him who knows a lot about the dangerous place the boy is stranded on. Here it is where the two gnomes (the yellow and the purple one, both with the ability to read other peoples minds) join the resque-team.
That is the story very briefly and I certainly won’t spoil the plot here. All I can say is that it is a film for kids AND adults.
I hope I got you a little memory back here, Arnaud, so that the asylum can go without you…
BTW: Does anybody know an old series, where the hero was a robot called “Microbik”. I’ve got a strange suspicion, I’ve created him in my mind a long time ago, 'coz nobody else knows him… %|
