I wondered if I could recreate the Tron Light Cycle game

Yeah. I thought the graphics were really unique, and then I realized that you were filming your monitor, hah. I kind of liked the effect that gave - a light tinting and shaky in-game camera might be interesting. As a side-note, MSI Afterburner seems to be really good for screen-recording at a good clip.
