TRONTANK Demo released (also posted in News)

Hi fellow Blenderers!

I e-mailed Ton Roosendaal yesterday and he asked me to post the anouncement of the demo of my game in this forum, and why not!

My name is John Nilsson, but some of you know me as dinAlt on IRC, especially in the gameblender channel.

The game I’m now releasing a demo of, is inspired by the movie TRON and made in order for me to get work at a local game developer studio (Starbreeze Studios here in Sweden). I didn’t get the job (actually they lost a contract and had to lay of people), but I got some friends in the GameBlender Community, and I learned a lot about game making in Blender.

I would like to thank people in the gameblender community, especially blengine, for helping me out with Blender on several occasions during the development.

And finally - the link to the site with the demo of TRONTANK

Enjoy!

COOL!!!

nice!!!

Pretty handy little game!

Quadron

it will be better once i help to add m-player support to it

Im suprised you havnt gotten more replies by now, mabey a slow Saturday night. I really like your intro’s, and the font style you have recreated kicks arse. Main Menu is great, the whole game has really clean lines and good basic colors, I know it is a same type game as tron, same look and everything, but you did a really great job with it. I feel though that the life bar and ammo bar dont seem to go well with the look of the rest of the game. I would like the looks of them to reflect the look of the rest of the game as a whole. And the explosion when the projectile hits something that seems kinda weak, compared to the look of everything else. I love when the tanks explode into a couple of pieces, that is great. Mabey tweak the dynamics a bit, all in all, a very visually appealing game, I played a long while with my son, and we had alot of fun. We also liked the way the turret animation was done, off center, cool… Great job, Two thumbs up from NDNChief and NDNWarrior…Looking very Professional…

NDNChief…

Nice work dinAlt!

By the way, you can make it parameter-driven with a bat file

If you distribute the blenderplayer.exe with the locked/signed/compressed .blend, you can supply a bat file that runs blenderplayer.exe and sets the screen resolution.

I don’t remember the command line options off the top of my head, but if you provide it bogus options I believe it tells you them.

yes very cool stuff! very pretty and once i got the hang of the controls i had a great time driving around blasting things =) and i like the power up spots, reminds me of twisted metal, ahhh, memories

really cool sounds too

Beauty game Johnn. Very professional  Makes me want to remake the Tron motorcycle-type game 8)

Thanx for the positive response!
I’ll hope I’ll be able to do something more with it soon!

It hade be fun to make a Tron game like the originale  .
Cool game man

Cool game! You did a great job with it.

Nice looking game from the screen shots. I did not download it becasue I do not have the system requirement. But nevertheless keep up the good work.

Dude, the game doesnt’ have that complex of graphics. The requirements that are listed are a bit high, it should run on any computer that can run blender fairly well.

Pooba

I just took the reqs very seriously. I figure that he would not have posted them if he did not mean that was the MINIMUM system requirements. Also I know my old 700mhz 64mb celeron is on its last legs.
