trouble bending things

as you will see when opening the file i have had several tries at this.
what is the simplest way to make the shape curved!
what do i need to do to the shape?

I think the best approach here is to keep it as low poly as possible and let the subd modifier do all the smooth curves. Since the canoe is symmetric in 4 ways only one quarter has to be modeled, the rest can be achieved with mirror modifiers to keep the curves continuous.

another way would be to use nurbs skinning

using front top side images

and you can use the mirror symmetry too !

use UV projection
but you might loose the 3D effect of the model
so use only a portion of the side with a second material

thanks guys - but it is not worth the trouble- i will find another way to complete the project- different layout
