Trouble using curve modifier to make ice cream

I was following CG geek’s blender 2.8 beginner series, part 2 Modifiers.https://youtu.be/EvTrZ0soo_Q
And at 11:09 I am stuck.

I am following his tutorial but something is going wrong here. The star shape is not following the curve.
Any help is appreciated.

Looks like the Deformation Axis on the Curve modifier doesn’t match the axis you want to deform along.
