trouble with background images

I can’t seem to get background ref pics to be in the right place when I want a different reference image in different windows.
Is there any way to easily move them around, or do you have to edit them and make line up in an image editor?

Firstly are all your reference images the same size (eg are they all 200px x 400px)?

It’s much easier to get the refs to line up if they are all the same size. If they are the same size, then I’m not aware of any other way than to fiddle with the pics in an image editor.

What I’m really getting at is that I can only offset background images 20 units in any direction. This seems a bit rediculous, is there any way around it?

Hi !

Using a background image when modelling causes the 3D view to refresh slowers.

Using planes with UV mapped images is much better, and allows you to see your picture even if you are not in Front side or top view.

You have to be in textured mode to see the pictures.

I had the same problem.
If you still prefer to use blenders ‘background Image’ -
Cut your blueprint image in half using a 2D image editor,
gimp, Paint Shop Pro etc.
