I was trying to render a model with HDRI so I can seamlessly put it onto a Reallive background picture. Of Course I need shadows for this. Thus I roughly modelled the Object the model is supposed to stand on (my bed).
Now I was trying to position the Camera in Blender the same way as in the background Picture I have taken so that the resulting picture will look pretty much the same. I used the background picture on which the model is to appear as background image in Blender.
No matter how long I try it just doesn’t seem to be possible, but the measurements of the beds are perfectly excat!
Does anyone know some kind of trick or hint or something?
It’s driving me mad that I did all this work just to end up getting stuck on a problem as trivial as that!
i think there is no trick but it all depends on your eyes and your sense of perspective. Maybe if you post an image, or better, the .blend itslef someone could give you a hand.
If your project is serious and you need more precision, you will need to use a camera calibration technique. I think there is such an extension for Blender; search the forum for “camera and calibration.”
