I used Gimp + Inkscape to convert and import into Blender, Uv’d and textured in Gimp +
Rendered in Blenders new Render Engine- Cycles.

The idea is based off of a tutorial by bugzilla2001 = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ows2QTiMRPg

The image I used to convert = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Amsterdam.svg

It looks really good!
I especially like the fur on the lions.
The Lighting and materials look realistic and I think you’ve done a amazing work

Hello Sandile,
Thanks alot
I noticed something interesting, the jewel piece on the crown, had a discolored jewel in the png (intentional in the original piece?) which when I path traced and imported showed up as well in the mesh (which I must had that this process = a crazy polycount, after you convert the curve to a mesh.)

Cool city Tung, just a bit dark but I guess is what you aim to.

Hi Carrozza,
Thanks, I agree too dark, I still have to work on textures, lighting, compositing… ect
I do want a dusk feel to it, but not to dark.
Will update soon

UpDate 2
Hi all,
I had time for a couple of updates.
changed the…
Landscape, water (digging the water a little better), the base on the bridge,

Added the… Trees (even tho only 1 of the 5 leave textures showed up), a little compositing, not enough tho, more to do.

Found the…
3 partical systems for the grass (silly man… grrrr… the timeline had somehow got set to frame -7 and particles started on frame 1, major waste of brain cells for a goof up :p)

Known to do’s:
Signage for the billboards, get all the leave textures fixed, add a street light for the bridge + maybe a exit sign, more compositing. + of course advice from crits

Here is a pic of the same tree rendered in cycles with all of the textures…

Till the next update, Happy blending

Hola,
Happy Holidays everybody
Had some time for a couple of updates.
changed the…
Tweaked the grass up some, I changed the textures for the trees, + a bit more compositing

Added the…

Street lights to the bridge, finished 1 of the textures for the billboard (i used blender + gimp to make it ), still one to go ( what to put on it? Blender institute - Mango related props? hmmm. )

Known to do’s:
last texture for the signage, maybe a exit sign, bit more tweaking + compositing.

First off, I would like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Yet, another stab at updating this piece, I’m at the point I’m not sure what to do so for now, this may be where it will have to stay for a bit…
Hi res = http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9041/city6d.png

Yet another update…

Thanks to GottfriedHofmann for pointing out the war that was going on in the sky background, it was mapping issues with it, mid way to fixing it I decided to switch to a new sky background from Optikz @ http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?224065
Thanks for the amazing textures Optikz, awesome work my friend.
Hi Res = http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/1293/citycomp3mid.png

Blender 2.61
Scripts used…
Beam Builder by revolt_randy in building the sign
Ocean Sim by Matt Ebb for the water
tree sapling by Andrew Hale (TrumanBlending) to build the trees
Suicidator City Generator by piiichan for the city
Gimp for textures
sky background from Optikz

Finally catching up to a wip I wanted to make, the 'ole Lady and I took a tour of a Winery and ever since I wanted to create a wine scene.

Here’s the sketch (or course, it may change :p) of the wip in mind…

I modeled the Cork Screw as the first piece
I’ll update as I progress, as always crits -n- advice are always not only welcome but also very appreciated.

Happy Blending

Hola Gang,
Quick update on some of the progress so far…
(Ya know, it is amazing how much quicker you can build some of this stuff the second time around, after forgetting to save my file and blender crashes on me) …lol ( Live -n- Learn I guess)
Here is a close up of the corkscrew (still not all of the textures)

And Here is the direction i’m heading for the scene, alot may change, props, textures, and scene for that matter, anywho here it is…
Crits, Comments and Suggestions are appreciated, Thanks in advance
Happy blending
