Turkey and chicken - feathers

For a while i’have been wondering on how to model birds like chicken or turkey or else

but how do you model 3D feathers in blenders?

I mean when you do the rendering it shouldl look like real birds and not a naked donald duck

There are different sizes , colors and shapes of feathers!
