Turn alpha image into geometry for a black outline on the geometry?

I have imported a hairstyle from a game. So basically in blender on solid desplay mode you can see that the hairstyle is blocky, but the overall shape is similar like the end result.

The hair looks different in the material preview or rendered mode though, because I have added an image which is alpha and that is connected to a principled bdsf. I’m not sure how that’s called but it just changes how the hair looks and add like detail or something, like it makes it not be blocky anymore it’s some sort of mask.

So my goal is to make an outline for my hairstyle, as i have done for the body. But when I make the outline it makes it for the original blocky hair and not for the principled bsdf result. Help

If the hair is “blocky” using a texture with an alpha the this simply might be because the resolution of the used texture is not high enough for your needs.

You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer.
