Turning on and off Control Objects mid-animation (Fluid Simulation, Blender 2.8 Beta)

Hello all!

I’ve been having trouble with getting a control object to do what I want.

I want to make a wave form around a fluid control object (mesh model of a wave) at a specific time in an “animation sequence” (near the end of the frame series at frame X, say at frame 350 of 375 total frames).

I tried :

  1. Blender 2.80 beta: Tried combinations of: animating (I key + mouse hover) the “flow” checkbox at frame X, setting the “start time” parameter to a time value that corresponds with frame X, and move the control object through the volume where fluid voxels are. Just causes an explosion from a force field (I think others call it a velocity bump?). Tried this on project file and a simplest case file. :frowning:

  2. Tried in blender 2.79. I tried a “simplest case” file. Force field is turned on at t = 0 regardless of whether the flow is disabled at t = 0 and only enabled after t = X (a frame before the end of the animation sequence).

Am I doing this wrong? Is there a better way? Please help! :frowning:
