tut on smoke how to add force field texture

the tut for making smoke is
http://www.packtpub.com/article/getting-started-with-blender-particle-system-1

it says after adding materials to add a force field texture
but how is this done?
do you add an empty then add a force field to it or else ?

This seems to be an itneresting tut but not all steps are there !

Thanks for any help on this smoke

He shows a picture of it (though on my browser I have to scroll through the image to find it):
Add -> Force Field -> Texture

The slower way: Add an empty, go into the Physics tab, enable Force Fields, then change the force-field type to Texture

ok cannot din this line you say!

if i look into the picure for the force fileds
it says tht the texture = Teture
but don’t see any texture added before?
so where does this teture comes from ?

Thanks

Any textures you’ve already made will show up in the texture drop-down box. You can make a plane, make a texture, then use that texture for the force field. (Delete the plane later if you want, or just disable visibility and renderability.)

It looks like the tutorial doesn’t specify the creation of a texture, so I’d probably use a standard cloud texture, and then experiment from there. (I think I see what’s bothering you now.)
