TV set (christmas card)

Been horribly busy lately (finishing university, organising a gallery exhibition, updating my website, work stuff, argh!) and have only just begun to re-appear back into the real world again  I’ve got a bunch of new stuff to show though over the next week or 2.

Here’s a job I just finished, designing Christmas cards for Odyssey Channel, a cable TV documentary channel in Australia. On the front of the card is this illustration of a TV set being unwrapped, which I made in Blender and rendered in yafray. I’ll be going to the print bureau tomorrow morning to check proofs - there will be a few hundred, offset printed on 300gsm gloss card. I’ll update this post with a photo of the final product when I get it back, if you like

looks cool, Nice idea for a chrsitmas card and very well executed.
Hope to see the photo soon.

Nice! That is very well done. Looks great.

Thats really good, i like the wrapping paper. But why does a television company need Christmas cards? Are they for internal use, for employees. Or are they to be sent to other TV Channels  .

Very cool render, I liek the lightning and the prof smooth.:stuck_out_tongue: Keep blending, looks awesome. 8)

Good to see rabbit ars and the VHF dial and the UHF dial.

wow great look to it it is incredible

  1. Sweeeeeet!!! When I grow up (in Blender) I want to be like you. One question though, with this being for a cable channel, do you think that they might be offset by the rabbit ears (antenna)?

sweet! my band is called odyssey!

Alee_Boy: Nick the image and use it for your band :D.

Only kidding. Dont kill me broken.

Whifty1: perhaps its a paradox showing what teles were like. BTW i made that up cos it sounds cool.

Thanks!

L13 - Yeah, it’s basically for promotional use, sending to other companies they deal with, other channels, reviewers and people in the media, etc.

whifty1: Heh, artistic license  An old-school TV looked much nicer and more more recognisable on the card than one of those brand new boring modern silver or black boxes that are sold these days.

how long did it take you to model the wrapping paper?? It looks awesome.

I see your point, I guess the new ones are kind of drab. Keep blending, I still really like the image. I look forward to seeing more of your new works.
