Twist geometry that flows along curve

Hi

If i make an array of 10 cilinders and distribute them along any curve - will blender be able to twist this array spreaded out along curve?
When i set up a modifier “simple deformation” to the array that is aligned along curve and try to twist the array using the curve as a axis then the array jump off the curve and begin crookedly twist regardless of the curve

THanks

You could either edit the points of the curve with Ctrl+t or use for example an empty as an offset for the array modifier.
For that you just have to move and rotate the empty.

Thanks to reply

Geometry_twisting.blend (610.9 KB)

If edit mode of the curve and i press Ctrl + T - then i get just simple rotation of all array using the curve as a axis but this is not twisting

When i created an empty - yes i point out to object offset in array modofier to this empty but when i rotated empty in edit or object mode then i got nothing

You have to either select the start or the end point of the curve, otherwise it will just rotate the whole curve. .
But this will only rotate each cube along the curve, not actually twisting the geometry.

I’ll have a look at it once I’m home in about an hour, maybe some one else can solve it until then

sorry, took me a little longer!

If this is what you are going for, it worked for me:

The only thing I did to your file was, that i deselected the first vertex, and then STRG+T to tilt the curve. only at the second vertex

And it looks like it actually deforms the geometry, didnt know that.

Thanks, - it works for me too
It’s bad that there is no possibility to get the same result using simply deform modifier that was intended to do it judjing by the name of this modifier

Is this what you were after?

The modifiers are set to twist the array before deforming it along the curve.
