It’s a long time since I’ve used Blender for detailed modelling and my question is how to achieve these twisted legs on the chair?

I assume it’s quite simple.
It’s a cylinder that’s twisted around an offset center. You can do this by e.g. moving the cylinder vertices so that the cylinder’s axis is off origin and using the Simple Deform (Twist) modifier.
