Two editing Questions ...

Two little Questions for my Game Project:

  1. How can i convert a SubSurfed Object to a real Mesh?
After that, i can decimate the Object back to a low Poly Model. (That could be Cool!)

2. How can i convert a “Light Map” to Vertex Color?
I think, irradiate an Object by a unchangeable Light is CPU-Power wastefulness, so i want to fake the Light Map. But painting by Hand is an unsatisfactorily Work.

Thx 4 Help
Doc

ALT+C converts and yes you can decimate

 Yeah! Converting SubSurf is realy cool! That will give me more freedom with editing. … I’ve never done anything with the Radiosity Buttons. I have to look vor some Tutos.

Thanks to all.

It is also possible to use lights, you can use as many as you wish, like radiosity however, the mesh must be subdivided for better quality. Then you just click the ‘Make’ button next to ‘VertCol’ in the edit button section, and all vertexcolors will automatically be set using the current lights. You can then remove the lights.

Hi eeshlo. That’s exactly what i need! I try that. It’s for my currently Project. The Screenshot i send You, You remember? (Yeah! It’s a very dark Place! )
Thanx! Doc

:x OH NO, PLEASE! NOOOOO! :x
It works, but the Mesh looks never Smooth! What can I do to make it Smooth with Vertex Color? Does the Smooth-FX only work with real Lights?
