.txt to .ply

How can I use the text editor to convert a .txt file to .ply format?

??? just edit ??

Yes, thanks Okidoki. In the meantime I had found this: http://www.paulbourke.net/dataformats/ply/
and inserted an appropriate header. That’s allowed importation of my point cloud to Freecad but curiously Blender rejects it.

And of course you did give the correct description for you 3D format to have something like a cube for example ???:

Yes, I did. Mine is vertices only, with no faces.
The Blender import error is ‘IndexError: list index out of range’. My ‘element vertex’ value is correct though.
