Ubuntu Can't Access File Server

I recently went about creating a file server so I could store my Blender stuff there (I should point out I’m a noob at this stuff). However I cannot open any of the files as I cannot access the server when I try to open a file.

Yeah that place. In my file explorer it shows up. Anyway is there a way to get it to show up (there’s probably some really easy way that I’m too retarded to see)?

Cheers.

Yeah my Ubuntu won’t open my file manager either. No matter how many times I type C:\windows\explorer.exe Damn Steve Jobs for making this crappy OS.

Gwedin, what kind of fileserver, NFS, Samba?

Cheers, mib.

It is Samba.

OK, did you mount the remote folder to a local folder with smbmount or in fstab?
File explorer know smb protocol Blender not.
If you can use NFS in Linux environment, it is faster and smaller as Samba.

Cheers, mib.

Ah, thanks. I’ll look into doing that.
