Ubuntu

Hey, sorry, wasn’t sure where to post this so thought this might be the right place. I just installed ubuntu and am a total noob. I need to know how to get blender to work with it. Every time I try to run blender, I get the following error message:

Archive: (PRIVATE)/Blender Foundation/Blender/blender.exe
[(PRIVATE)/Blender Foundation/Blender/blender.exe]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /(PRIVATE)/Blender Foundation/Blender/blender.exe or
/(PRIVATE)/Blender Foundation/Blender/blender.exe.zip, and cannot find /(PRIVATE)/Blender Foundation/Blender/blender.exe.ZIP, period.

So I’m assuming that I need to install the ubuntu version of blender. However, I can not find one at graphicall though I have found references that it may be the linux version I need to install. I just don’t want to waste time or resources downloading a dead end. So if someone can let me know for certain that this is the version I need to download, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you in advance.

use this source:

or use the official build:

you can unzip the archives to the desktop to try them.

So it is the linux one then? Thanks. Btw, I didn’t realize it but I hadn’t finished installing the actual OS. I only had the virtual Ubuntu running. lol Hopefully this will also help solve the problem.
