UDIM Support (officially) in 2.82 by Lukas Stockner; Development thread

EDIT: UDIM is officially in master, this thread remains relevant as there are always improvements that can be made. A couple of things. ----This doesn’t appear to be specific to Cycles, which makes me wonder if Eevee will support it too. ----There is nothing usable here yet, so don’t build the branch and then wonder why nothing works.

UDIM addon for 2.8

Hi! I’ve made an addon that imports UDIM textures into blender. Here is a short tutorial on how it works: UDIMS will be supported in blender 2.81 in a couple of months so it was more or less a coding exercise. Feel free to alter the code as you wish I’ve only tested it on Substance Painters naming convention, might not work in other cases. Here is the addon: UDIM_addon.py (15.7 KB)
