Hello all, I am wondering is there a way to load a blend file while completely ignoring setups in it. Because for example one file I have downloaded recently switches my render settings of cycles to blender internal. And I am not sure what else can bi switched on or of while loading .blend? (I did untick the LOAD UI)
Also Is there a way to save everyting from from a startup file to the scripts I am using? It seems like I would have a lot of work setting things up again when the next version arrives?
I don’t the render engine selection is part of the UI, because if the blend file has materials that were created for Blender Internal, they won’t work for Cycles so it would seem to be inappropriate to change the render engine.
As far as your second question, if you have followed the recommended guidelines for your startup blend and user settings, then when you install a new version of blender, there is an option to keep your existing settings on the splash screen the first time you start it up.
Thank you for your answers. Most of your suggestions are great. Although I need one more thing. Is there a way to copy complete blender UI WITH addons onto another machine? And if yes how so?
