Unable to get bump maps working in 2.8-

I’ve followed a couple of tutorials on how to get bump maps working in 2.8, but nothing shows up in Eevee renders or cycles renders. I’m missing something…

How does your material editor look? Have you plugged an image (or other texture generated from noise or whatever) into the Height input of a Vector>Bump node?

Remember that EEVEE can’t do Displacement…

Yes, my nodes are configured pretty much the same as yours. The bump should be appearing as engraving on the very back surface of the astrolabe. It doesn’t appear in a Cycles render.

Hm, it’s hard to tell. I’m assuming you have your object UV unwrapped…

I would try a different format, rather than .psd and see if that works.

Thanks, I’ll give that a go, but Blender is able to PREVIEW the PSD file, so interesting. The model is an existing .obj with a referenced .mtl file- I’ll read more about UV unwrapping.
