Unable to make runtime: Unable to find Runtime. ????????????

Hey i need some help im trying to make it to were i can save my game out to a EXE. to were i could play it with out opening Blender so i tryed to do it But all of the tuts are on PC and im on a mac so can you help Error Unable to make runtime: Unable to find Runtime.

Um, I don’t know if this would work, but try making a new folder, saving your game as a runtime(packing files and making paths relative) And finding your folder with the Blender.exe in it, copyin’ every file and pasting it in the new folder. This might work.

No, that won’t work.

In order to make a runtime, you need the blenderplayer to be in the same folder as blender itself. However, there is no working 2.5x blenderplayer for Mac OSX, so Mac users can’t make standalone games yet.

On the other hand, if you want to make a Windows exe file on Mac you need to merge the blend file to the end of the blenderplayer.exe file (which requires some python). Take a look at the code used in the blendStarter.

Creating runtimes isn’t quite that simple. You also have to store an offset. However, with the 2.5x Save as Runtime addon, you can specify the Blenderplayer to use (it’s an option with all the other options). If you specify a Windows Blenderplayer, it should make a Windows runtime, but I haven’t tested this yet. Also, I thought the Blenderplayer was working (at least as of 2.56). What’s broken?

The blenderplayer compiles and runs but it only displays a white screen. It happens on both Intel and PowerPC Macs (unless its been fixed within the last few days).

Mac runtimes have never worked in 2.5. I’m sure it will be fixed before 2.6 is released though.

that’s what ya get for getting a mac… :wink: sorry. I hope the problem does get, fixed. I also have a friend with a mac, and his wont work either.

What is different about the Mac Blender? Is it just made to be on Mac or does it have a little different stuff?

Really, Macs are better at 3D Animation and Editing, Pc’s are made for Web, Gaming, And Work…
