Underwater scene [new image after c&cs]

Hi! This is what I made in the last 6 hours. I consider this done but I am willing to rework on it depending on your comments and critics.
All started with a “blowing logo” tutorial I saw on the web and then I decided to try to blow something under water and finally I got the inspiration for a complete scene.
To create the water caustics on the shark I applied a black and white texture to an area lamp, but the lamp had to be under the water surface orI wouldn’t be able to see the caustics, so I placed the lamp outside the water, and uncecked “traceable” for the water surface wich has a “water texture” mapped on it. I’d like to make the water surface look better but I don’t know how…
anyway…
here you go.

It could use more in the way of particles floating in the water throughout the scene and be tinted a lot more blue-green as if you’re in the water.

Do note that water is also transparent (and is a volume), and wouldn’t have a caustics pattern on the top, also, the visibility would be a lot murkier unless the conditions are such that the water is clearer than usual.

Great start. Everything to do with the ship is, to my eye, a bit too bright and shiny. Agree with Ace Dragon that the water needs some tint. I would add some drifting particulates as well.

Thanks for the feedback! I worked on this some more and this is what I came up with. I think it’s better, let me know what you think, please!

i think its good, you might want to work on the sand,
but i know that it is really hard to make sand look convincing.

Thanks!, better?
I’m using a jpg texture instead of a procedural one in this image.

much better, sorry for the late reply
