I am looking for a tutorial or hint, how I can achieve the
effect of underwater sunlight beams “dancing” (I want to make a still, though) in the water.
I tried a plane ABOVE the scene, which I made
transparent with a high IOR…but it looks awful, because
its size is limited and the effect was not correct…
i would use an animated texture for the light instead of “real shadows” this way the hole thing is a lot faster and probably better looking. You could use the same texture for the halo…
he uses a TUBE for the halos, which in my opinion look awful. And with the latest version of blender it’s possible to use a spot with halo (and everything else turned off) instead. The only interesting thing would be, if you can use a texture for this halo as well (at the moment it only works for the light, that hits an object).
