Uneven voxel remeshing in sculpt module

Hey all, voxel remeshing question here.

I want to sculpt the edges of a slab of concrete (the model originates as a simple cube).

I am aiming to distress the edges in the sculpt module and then bake the result down as a displacement map.

When i run the voxel remesh i get and extreme difference in the quads remeshing on the Z axis.

any thoughts on why this would be and if it is fixable?

Try using Ctrl + A to apply scale.

Urgh, thats the one thing i always over look since moving to Blender. Sorry to waste your time.
