Unity - Playable demo!

I have just uploaded a playable demo of Unity, the game that I mention in my last post and I would like to share the demo here in blenderartists

Some instructions to play, if you don’t understand Spanish:
select “Nuevo Juego” and press the left button in the small window (continuar)

Now the time is running, just select with left mouse button any of the small pieces from the bottom, the cursor will get the figure of the selected one, and grab it to the grey axis in the center of the screen and left click in the position desired.

if you made a mistake and need to erase any of them just select the button “quitar” and left click on it to get it back to the bottom, and get a point in movements. One click for each one.

The reset button is useful when you need to quit all of them in just one movement, with out geting more movement points (movimientos), they are in top center of the game.

The more movements, and more time to complete the cube, the score will be low.

C&C are wellcome

so nice! i was waiting for it!
thanks a lot

Edit: hay alguna forma de jugarlo en linux? muchas gracias por el aporte se ve fantástico!

No english version?

The game seems kinda complicated and I’ve only really done 3 years of high school spanish… otherwise I’d give it a shot!

Also, the times for showing “Made in Mexico” and “Blender” are a bit long. It’s kinda nitpicky and not really that important, but it wasn’t immediately evident that I could skip them with Space.

Overall though it’s very well presented, sounds, menus, everything. Sometimes the menus seems a little laggy or non-responsive though…

Hope you like it

Am… I really don’t know since we used a non official version of blender because in official versions we get unstable game once the “Reset” button get pressed in the game, or collision problems with parented objects (needed to detect correct positions of cube elements), but we found that an unofficial version works very good, so we continue working on it. But I think the multiplayer version will be with 2.47 and hopefully will work better on any platform

No english version?

Not at this time, we develop this game for a contest here in our country (México) in a amateur and professional game developers meeting…

Yes  is so complicated to finish the cube, and well… I understand that get more complicated about language, I’m sorry for that… I know some friends that don’t understand english …

Yes… sorry for that, I forgot to mention about it, I just resize the logos in the intro because they look so big and slow, but I was too lazy and just put a LogicB to skip intro.

well, the delayed response of menus are because I put a delay function in order to listen the button sound once pressed, and at the same time I used that delay to get a progressive low gain sound , maybe just adjusting time in delay function

And thanks for your comments, are very apreciated to improve our game

Usando Wine, en mi PC corre perfectamente

The game look’s good, but it’s a shame the team not released a alpha or beta version, for beta testers (like me). I can say something it’s missing like support to play with the keyboard and other things like a “Sombrero de charro” y unas “maracas” in the character, that’s will be very chingon.

.

haha.! we’ll take into account that  thanks for the ideas

Thanks Ames89

Well I announce unofficially a video of Unity with multi player mode:

http://vimeo.com/1865366

Yep, we have done a video to show the development and improvement of the game, in this case we are working on multiplayer mode ( versus mode), each player in their PC, server and client… well, like some blender games developed before

it’s just in their fist stages, no special interface and no correct position of opponent´s cube, just testing socket connections, graphics and interface will be later, when finished the functionality of this mode (multiplayer)

More info and the same video here (Spanish)

Well just to mention that our game Unity has been nominated and now it´s finalist in the contest of VideoGames for PC or Console

                                               ![http://salvador.mata.com.mx/blog/wp-images/unity/unitywinner.gif](http://salvador.mata.com.mx/blog/wp-images/unity/unitywinner.gif)

Check the PDF here, and look for Unity, and there is another game were we participate too (Skimo y el casino de hielo) Skimo and the castle of ice.

congratulations! such a nice news! I’m proud of being Latin American!

Congratulations, my friend!

I expect to see you and your team on Thursday in Guadalajara, Jalisco (MĂ©xico). :spin:

:ba:

Thanks Madman!, sure we´ll be there!

Great game!
Took some time before I realised you can mirror and turn the piece with the right mouse buton and middle scroller wheel!!!..:)…Good work…the game feels slick and professional…I realy like the animation at the startup menu…good luck in the compitition!

Ps…One glitch…after ten minutes the timer looks a little funny…numbers seems to be a bit squashed…no other glitchs found!

Shakedown thanks so much for your comments, I never noticed the problem with the counter, thanks!! and sorry, I think I never tought about the languaje problems, and well… we did some more information about controls and use but they are only in the cd version we sent to the competition but is a huge package (170Mb aprox) between screenshots, videos, help files and the game sources itself. so we decided to only make avaliable the game executable.

Here are some more tips:

  • Press F1 Key to make visible the controls panel, it works as pause because it stops the timer
  • Press the Menu Button (left lower corner) to abandon game or see a demostration, press regresar al juego (back to game) to go back and continue playing.
  • By puting or removing a piece gives you a movement point (top center), if you made several mistakes and want to quit most of the pieces, use the reset (reiniciar) button, because it wont give you more movement points. but be careful because you only can use it 3 times.

And we are currently working in the game in our free times and we hope to complete the game (4 levels) and the versus mode (multiplayer version), and then release the game.

Most impressive! Congrats.
Will you release it commercially or not?

P.S. If you don’t wish to release your assets and code, you should be aware that we can decompile your *.exe with a simple Python script. Better use C-106 Delta’s BPPlayer .
Once more…very impressive game, and idea!
