This Is a timelapse animation and Music video made in Blender rendered in Cycles. Musik is by a friend of mine see his soundcloud here https://soundcloud.com/clexxx.
Some of you might have seen the portal in the forest setting http://ninjawolfx.deviantart.com/art/Forgotten-portal-Day-version-381412748 but that turned out to be too heavy to be rendered as animation.
The target was to create a timelapse animation for 24h but i changed it to 48 because the sun would have moved too slow. For the background i used an HDRI of stars and a sky texture mixed with a mix shader which i animated according to the time of day.
The moving particles in the gate are distributed on vertices of an icosphere. the icosphere is scaled to the musik via a sound baked to the fcurve. Particles material changes between emmision and red diffuse are also based on fcurve
