Unlikely Hero - CG Boost Challenge #4 Entry

This is my submission to the CG Boost’s Cute Warrior Challenge!

I have been really wanting to learn more about sculpting, and this was actually the very first idea I had! The elephant sculpt took probably four or five days working on and off. Texturing and rendering were probably another four days.

Who wants to model the whole elephant when you don’t have to!

This sword is its own other project…

I particularly like the framing and composition of this, it directs the viewer’s eyes from the elephant’s face, along its trunk and finally along the blade without obscuring the expression.Well done!

Thank you! Composition and lighting are the areas I’m working on the most with my artworks.

Great work! How have you made that realistic skin texture? It looks awesome!

Thank you!
I built it up using like fave different layers. Several of which are procedural textures with some areas masked out. In Substance Painter. But I’m sure the effect could be done in Blender as well.
