Unreal Engine 4 to Blender (import .FBX file)

In Unreal Engine 4 I get problems when I create a mesh (picture below).

Someone told me to export it to blender then play around with the smoothing option. The only problem is once
I import it the balcony (.fbx file) doesn’t seem to show up. I can see it in the side bar, but not the mesh itself.

Anyone know why this may be happening?
