unresolved symbols/undefined reference when compiling plugin

When I try to compile a plugin which uses the hnoise function I get a undefined reference to _hnoise.
I guess I have to link som lib. But which? Where do I get this lib? I use Windows (VC6, mingw, cygwin gcc) and Linux (gcc) (currently Windows).

I think you will have better luck asking in the developer forums (http://www.blender3d.org/forum/), or at least in a forum dealing with C/C++, as this problem doesn’t seem python related, and seems to deal more with the code than with the usability. A few might be able to help you out here as well, but the C gurus hang over there. Oh, and on the #blendercoders channel on irc.freenode.net

Hello, I compile the water plugins for Biggles on windows, I made a little How-To you can find at : http://www.hdl.co.za/donn/#foo

Well, I thought its the Blender Python & Plugins forum.
After all, it says “Load Plugin” where you have to choose the texture plugin.

Thanks, I’ll read your HOWTO.

I didn’t say this was the inappropriate place now, did I?
