somtimes i have a model where specific areas just dont change at all with the sculpting tools.
does this happen to others too?
When i put extreme values to force some effect it eventualy goes in the opossite direction or opens gapes, in the end statium of this i gain some infinite lines across the screen.
I checked so far:
any kind of vertex looks (masking and monkey brushing)
multiple different view angles
moving the object around in edit or object mode
inverting faces of individual part or all
deleting said vertices, re-creating them
checked brushes (curve, add/sub , options)
removing doubles
disabling mirroring
I am running out of ideas, because it looks like those vertices can be affected but never when they are the focus.
there is like a line around this area, where i can not sculpt in, but if i have a huge egnouth brush i can affect them.
If you’ve sculpted an area to the point where the geometry is extremely stretched, you’ll run into trouble if you try to sculpt it further. That’s the only other possibility I can think of.
the strength of a brush depends also on the size of the model. so, i would check if the model is correct scale (usually it is best to work with real scale, the brushes behave optimal then) if not rescale, and apply scale (the latter is important, otherwise you would not see an effect on the brushes). i am not sure your problem is of this typpe, but its worth a try i think.
Alright, I just recently run into the same problem again, and this time it was just too much work to recreate said object just because it starts to restrict some areas.
I found a solution that helped me:
-delete all attached material
-delete everything in the vertex Groups/Shape Keys/ UV Maps/ Vertex Colors
-delete all modifiers and constrains
-save to a new file and quit blender
-open the previous file
Now i can again manipulate every area.
Thanks guys for your support and i hope this will save someone some time.
