Unwarping to curved shaped areas to boxes

I made a UV map of a model. I made it using the quad format.

How do I make the curved areas for example highlighted to a box shape 2D? I will like to paint plating on it and it would not work will with the current UV map.

So I get something like each area shaped like a box and the circular areas stay circular.

You can use pinning while unwrapping to make the curved islands more square (not sure if this is what you’re aiming for) I made a screen recording on how to do this…

Note: Press P to pin selected uv verts, press W to get the align x,y options.

It’s pretty close to what i want.
