Sorry. My Computer crashed as I was replying.

Unwrapping a face (or head) is hard to do in Blender.

I get best results creating a seam around the facial features. Then I create a seam in the middle of the head (from the facial featires seam on top) all the way to the back of the neck. I create a seam below the facial features down the neeck in the fron, in the middle.

OK, if you can’t understand what I said, click here

I assume you clicked the link above. I resized, reshaped and rearranged the unwrapped pieces by hand, and got this.

Thank you, too!
I thought you are kidding, because you just answered my question. :D#

You two realy helped me, thank you!

I hope it works out for you. Right now, I am working on a skin texture for my head. I am partially color-blind and I am having trouble on getting the correct skin color and texturing by hand with PaintShop Pro.

I wish there was a “Real-Skin” tutorial specifically for Blender. If I get human skin that works, then I’ll write a tutorial on how to do it.

You could always use the color picker to grab a base color off of another image.

I have done that, but what I am looking for is a tutorial like this one…

But geared towards Blender.

Look at the images at the BOTTOM of page 6

After spending many hours on UV mapping, LSCM etc, I use a technique where I take small sections of the head and map “From window”,

Start with the face, eyes, nose and mouth and the edge loop that surrounds them. map it “From Window” move that section in the UV window to the side, pin one vert, next select another section of the head, face it towrds the front view, and again map that section “From Window”. Keep doing this until all section have been mapped. Then weld the sections together, takes a bit of practice but it works for me.

Here’s a mapped shot
