Hello,
I would like to unwrap an ordinary Blender Sphere onto a 2D plane so that the end-result looks similar to that of a world map when being unwrapped onto a 2D plane. In other words, I want a 3D sphere as a flat representation looking like a sequence of upward and downward directed triangles connected by a common center line (which is the circumference), where each triangle is subdivided by the faces of the original mesh. I hope you know what I mean with that. It is kind of hard to explain. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
