not nessesarily, I made the impoosible box in blender for fun. You can always use little tricks. Even without post prossessing. For a lot of the pictures it all has to do with camera angle.
just for fun check this out. I think all the blender-heads will enjoy this. The escher foundation recreated some of his works in 3d. The Dialouge in them are really cheesy, but the rotation of the camera angle is really cool.

The only thing that bothers me about this image is the graininess. What’s your AO set at? Feels like 5 or 8, when 16 would really make this image pop.
This really is a fabulous piece. I think the comment about textures isn’t a bad idea – even though you did it for fun this is the kind of thing that gets people recognition and would be great for a portfolio. Just simple sandstone bump mapping on the homes, etc., would do it I think.

my only crit: your palm fronds need help… just apply a texture like theese to color alpha and nor…

Actually this has been done before.
I created a similar piece of work for one of the weekend challenges.
Wich I won btw :).
But I must admit this version has a lot more detail and it looks slightly more correct in the perspective.
I had to fake it a bit.

I loved the QTVR! It is a completely new way to interact with this kind of image.
