*Update* 427 Cobra WIP

Well it’s been a looooong since I’ve worked on this but I thought it was worth finishing. It’s my tribute to the awsome 1965 427 Cobra SC (competition)
These cars weighed only 2,150 lbs but had an engine that could produce upwards of 500 HP! I’m trying to get it as much to scale as possible.

I have notice that people usally dont coment on good things, but its usally nice to get a pat on the back and say keep up the good work.

So… OMFG THAT ROXS!!!
I see nothing wrong with it yet its really really good looking so far

Cool.

I haven’t got the slightest idea on hood and doors, but I’d rather model the openings, then duplicate that line of nodes and use them as a basis for the doors etc.

If you cut you’ll get ugly unbevelled stuff.

Tremendous modeling. You did a great job on captring the lines of the car. I’m looking forward to the finished model and render(s).

Cool. Thanks! You guys are very encouraging.

I want to try it with your knife script Stefano because it leaves a “clean” mesh and creates new edges. But since the cutting plane cuts infinatly in all directions, I’ll have to duplicate the main mesh, then go around the out side of the duplicate and cut anything that isn’t a hood. This can be done in four cuts and it wil preserve all the angles. By reattaching this piece to (a copy of) the main mesh I’ll have the edges right where I need them!

Then I just fill in the faces. It worked great in a test I did.
And ofcoarse if it doesn’t I’ll still have the origional mesh to work with.

Thanks again for the knife script Stefano. I hope it becomes a feature in Blender soon.

wow. :o

the details are great.

I knew it was a cobra even before you said so. That’s how good it is, because I don’t know a damn thing about cars (I have a truck, its white).
