It felt really good to sketch today and sometimes it has a easier inspirational touch doing 2D, it has not to be perfect, but is very nice to see how things grow.
So here I am, starting a WIP thread to let you see how my sketch as self portrait will grow in time, check in now and then, I hope you find my skills good enough, never done a head/face sketch before, not even a selfportrait.
I am using my Graphire2 and Painter Classic that came along as bundled software.

in all seriousness, i already love it. its really nice. and i can honestly say it would make a cool wallpaper like that. you could literally leave it as it is, its so perfect in its simplicity. but that would be no fun! draw baby draw!
Nice start. Next thing you could do is make a quick line where you want your eyes and mouth to be.
As somesort of quickprefrence, the eyes are aprox one eye lenght apart and mouth is about from iris to iris.
As I said, nice start. I anxious to see the final result.
looking good! id love to see some color as you work on this, even if not full colors, maybe orange/brown highlights here or there, i love pics like that

i think, ur head should be a bit higher, there is not enough space between eyes and top …
the eyes are normaly in the middle of the head - and the pic of u and ur swedish meeting didnt look as flat

very nice but i think your ear is coming too far off the head there. need to add detail to the ear and chin/right profile to really make it pop!

what about, making the color more scratched, like the lines are… ? and lower the saturation, perhaps, more… too… ?
