Updated :Spazz Dancer- now with Friend and nightclub

Hi all!

You guys gotta see this!!!

I was playing with blender 2.43 game engine ,

and decided to try doing a rag doll…

Well… anyways here is a pretty cool little puppet…

Controls:

Left and right Cursor keys-
Left and right arms

Hold up arrow and Left or right- 
    slight spin and off set with arms

Hold Down arrow and left or right-
    Foot action! Sidestep.

A and D-
Left and right foot down.

Q and E-
Left and Right foot up.

tip’s…

Timeing is everything… taps and holds do
different reactions.

Try tapping the controls to the beat of music.

Different combos at different times do different things
HAVE FUN and experiment!

Well… anyways. just leave the controls alone for a moment, and watch him dance 8)

then when you do decide to try. just Tap the keys, and watch him recover! this is really cool :slight_smile:

I am going to try doing a dancing game with this simple concept…

The coolest thing is that I did everything with just Logic Blocks!!! no code any ware!

I am going to go and teach this guy some new moves… hope you guys enjoy this :slight_smile:

YOU MUST HAVE BLENDER 2.43 to play the game… the Blender player wont allow the space bar for some reason… so if you want to use the space bar load it in the editor :stuck_out_tongue:

Spazz now has cool foot controls!!!

I left the original dancer there for backup, and for something to bounce off :stuck_out_tongue:

The new controls are A and D for leaft and right foot down.
and Q and E for Left and right foot up.

think I am going to try adding joystick controls and some more moves next…

the nightclub might get an overhaul as well…

Ummm, i almost forgot…

Both Right and left arrow at the same time makes him do a Chear leader Pom-pom jump :stuck_out_tongue:

Can somebody please tell me how to make a ragdoll, i’ve studied all the examples, but i cant figure out how it can be done

don’t you mean 2.42? or you could be using one of the compiled CVSs but thats still 2.42

Go to the above link, and study the pictures.

one thing tho…
DONT MAKE THE MESHES convex hull polytrope… make them spheres insted, or cubes…
also make sure the radius dose not go outside the mesh, or intersect other physics objects radius…

another thing , before you start select all your meshes and press control A to apply scale and rotation… otherwise you will get an Epileptic break dancer, rather than a ragdoll…

Ball joints are also evil in my (limited 2 hour) experience. hinges are better…

well anyways, that is my little helpful hints…
in the end you will just need to experiment and hack it to get it to do what you want.

I have an update almost complete… just another hour or so… I have it so the feet are on the ground more, and the dancer dose not seem to be floating around.

I am going to attempt a collapse animation, and a front and back flip first :slight_smile:

EDIT:
WOOT! got the backflip and next is the backflip.
Also, danceing on the ceiling is now possible.

but… err… one question…:
how do you make joints between two meshes? because that’s the part that i can’t figure out…(when i use the forum search, i only get topics about people who have already made the joint, or realy old topics…)

Glad I could help…

Re-reading my above post, I sound like some Nazi commander giving out orders,
Sorry about that… . I was not upset at all.

the only thing I really did different was I use spheres rather than Convex hull polytopes.
He has the mass crainked up to 10 too, on a normal size sphere that is like a dense stone or lead ball… you will want to play with that too

I gotta go read more too… looks like we can set up where and how the joint rotates… I bet this will make so that my arms and legs wont hyper-extend (Ouch!).
