User Persp zoom

I have a scean I created but I can not zoom into the center area where I need to take screen shots. The closer I get the harder it is to zoom and move around.

Could some one please tell me how to correct this?

Select an the object you want to screenshot, then press Numpad-Del (.), or “View Selected” in the View tab in 3d view.

EDIT:
If, for example, it’s just a plane as your scene, you can select a face, vertice, or edge and it should work, too.
