the only way i got it to work was using nview.
that just stretches the window across 2 monitors, but then split the windows etc to what you need.
the buttons will also go big across the bottom, but again you can resize them.
hope this helps…
it works, but you need two monitor with same size like 17"+17" or 19"+19"
for it to work nicely
i’ve got that working with 17" and 19"… works pretty good.
…
okay okay i hardly ever use it. i’m more of a one-window-one-screen-user

Those things are shockingly inexpensive…at least in my mind. And how awsome! Oh man my long term goal has no become owning “The Grand Canyon”. Oooooh yeah…
I’ve got a 17" and a 19" but blender’s image gets all corrupted if it stretch it all the way across. Otherwise what I’d do is take the buttons window and split it in half, and put the material buttons on one monitor and the edit buttons on another (its doesn’t matter which you put obviously) Then I made one monitor one big viewport to work in, and the other one I divided into four. It worked good except, like I said, I couldn’t get blender to stretch all the way.
(joy-gasm)
me want
I’ve encountered a limit of 2048 by 768 high with Blender, two monitors an ATI 8500 and Win 2000 (with, of course, a higher resolution than 2048X768) :
has anybody reached a higher number of pixels ?
If so, it would be nice if those who can gave some precisions about their setups.
Thanks.
I have two 19’’ monitors, each capable of 1600 x 1200. using good old GF MX4 with nView, i have a desktop sized 3200 x 1200 px. works perfect with blender, except sizing the window down to one screen gives me a black blenderwindow. but running maximized i had no problems at all - plenty of space for all controls, buttons and 3d veiws.
wihtout nView i had serious performance problems when trying to stretch the window over both monitors.
winXP pro, running on an prehistoric athlon 600.
