Using Blender to Animate Rockstar logo

Edit: First really quick, let me clarify that this is not an official commercial. But, we are officially getting
sponsored.

I am working on this awesome kung-fu video promo for Syntax Records.
We are getting sponsored by Rockstar (yes, the poppin energy drink) and
MySpace (hiphop).
The promotion is for a super sweet show we’re doing in downtown Nashville, TN
on April 20, 2008 for GMA (Gospel Music Awards) on top of the building across the
street from the Renaissances Center. Its called the Peanut Butter and Jelly Party.
There are going to be lots of hiphop shows with free pb & j sandwiches, and of course,
free Rockstar drinks. I don’t think the info is up at the moment, but it will be soon,
here: http://www.myspace.com/syntaxrecords

You might be wondering what all this has to do with Blender:rolleyes:…I’m just excited
to finally start making use of the things I’ve been learning.
At this point not a whole lot was really done using Blender, but for the end of
the short film I’m making, the guy takes a slammin’ drink of Rockstar and quickly
holds it up to the camera. The logo peals off from the can and then goes up to
a full screen view.
Thanks to the Blender Nation News video, “Auto Tracing”

I was able to get that into Blender quickly for tweaking.

I am also going to try and do something cool with animating all the logos of the
sponsors to be played as a looped video for the background while the MC’s and
DJ’s are doing their thing on stage.

I am still very under experienced in Blender and will try and post my work on this
site as I make it. I’m not sure what I can upload since more of the stuff will be
premiered at the show, but…I will most likely run into a lot of dead ends without
your guys’ help. If not though, it’s super awesome to know you’re available here
on the forum.

Anyway, now that I’ve made your eyes bleed from all this reading…I should get back
to work.
