Using Blender's Screencast function

I’ve been trying to use Blender’s screencast function in version 2.53 and I can’t figure out where the options are and where the recorded files go to.

anyone have any idea of basic usage?

thanks

The output location and output format are the same as the animation output settings in the render panel.
Alt+F3 to start, to stop press the red capture cross at the top of the screen.
The fps settings are in the user preferences / system panel.

thanks for that!

Do you have any idea how I could change the capture resolution? my monitor uses 1920x1200 which is way too big for my needs, and when I try to load the img sequence into the VSE it crashes…

I’ve tried changed the render settings in the render tab but it seems to use only file type selected but not the resolution. I’d like to do editing of this in the VSE but right now it doesn’t seem to like the file size.

It’s a screencast. The resolution is whatever size your blender window is set to.
Reduce the window size reduces the file size.

that makes a whole lot’o sense.

thanks for pointing out the obvious:o

mh on os x it does not record anything at all.

I’m using OSX 10.5.4 and Blender 2.53 and it works here.
