Using face instancing blows up my array of a parent/child object

Hi, I am simply trying to follow a tutorial on how to make an array follow a path without distorting by making my object a child of a plane and adding array modifier to the plane.
The plane will array properly ( without a curve modifier) but the child object is not displayed. Setting instancing to “vertices” seems to work properly. However, using “Face” instancing the child is not displayed and the plane becomes unrecognizable. Using Blender 4.0
Looks like I can’t upload my blender file

.

Hi, this method is outdated and will be removed in a future version. For better instancing, use geometry nodes

This is for a basic face instancing

Thank You so much…I will give it a try.

Thanks for this tip. It forced me to start learning how geometry nodes work. WOW, there is a lot to learn, but you are right, that is the way to go.
