Hey all, Noob here. Is there an easy way to set a file to exact dimensions (x, y, z) are known but file is incorrect, I think the ratios of the drawing are correct.
Welcome …
you can set almost any coordinates value to any vertices you want… but you might have to explain what the conficting phrases “are known” and then “i think” does mean in this context.
Also why is the file “incorrect” ?? Who did this?
You may have to elaborate this to get a more suited answer.
One thing to realize is that a 3d application is -not- a CAD application.
Especially when importing files generated from CAD applications will come in too small or way too big.
@oo_1942’s video reference can be used for both a drawing or a imported object.
If you know the real world dimensions, it’s easy to create a similar object in Blender, and scale the imported file up or down until it matches.
But again, dimensions are somewhat arbitrary in a 3D application, and more fluid compared to CAD where accuracy is vital.
