Hi, I’ve already done a quick google search on this to no avail, but I just might not be phrasing it correctly. What I want to do is to take a bumpy texture and apply it to a mesh in a way that causes the mesh to be bumpy. I’m not concerned about making it ‘look’ bumpy in a render shot but actually transforming the mesh. It would eventually be exported to a .stl file. I can elaborate more if need be.
Term is Displacement map.
Object’s mesh is subdivided to needed resolution and texture makes it deform.
See the Displace Modifier, probably what you are looking for. You need to tick the little icon that allows use in viewport. Apply your image with UV I guess, and then choose it in the drop down for your modifier.
Thank you both ever so much. :]
