Using the World like an HDRI

Does anyone have some hints for doing this, I tried it on a suggestion I read here, but I have a couple of questions:

  1. When I add a texture to the world material with an image, the image is always tinted, and no matter what I do I can’t get the image to look like it should.

  2. Is there a way for the world to exist in the reflections, but not show up in the render?

(this is wrong)there are colors for the horizon zenith and ambient light, I believe you will need to set the horizon color and zenith color (just the horizon color if you turn of blend) to white

tries it

OK, set you texture to map to the horizon color, not the blend color

(it may be relavant that I have blend real and paper turned off?)

maybe this is one of those: “choose premul or key instead of sky in the display buttons” questions

(haven’t tried, probably shouldn’t prove I don’t know and just let theeth correct me)

Sorry to interfere before theeth corrects z3r0 d…

but this is offtopic, it should have been posted on Q&A General

so I have to lock it
