The ship:

The ship deviates a bit from the blueprint I used as basis, e.g. the wings are longer; the ship’s side isn’t pinched but is instead almost the same all the way to the back; there are windows on the side. The ship has a cargobay and the impulse engines are way back.

It’s funny how yesterday I reported a bug to Blender about issues with the Boolean modifier and parenting and the next day it already got fixed. Dunno whether it was me or they figured it out.

Nice work. I was thinking the surfaces are a bit smooth and how you could easily add a bit more texture to your models for added realism. You might try using a brick texture along with normal mapping to try to make panels and some noise to add some roughness.

You can mask out areas with other textures or by using UV mapping.
