USS Kongo

Here’s something I’ve been working on for a little while. Down to the final texture work…

And with modeled the secondary hull windows and half the secondary hull textures.

Main thing that’s missing are the lights and what not for the front engine caps.

Looks great!

I’d love to see more Star Trek (and scifi in general) stuff done in Blender.

Smooth modeling, I like it. Though it could need a few more windows on it if it is a built for research and discovering other planets, looks more friendly that way. If it is a warship it might be enough windows.

That USS Kongo looks more accurate that the images used in the TV series.

Wow dude thats pretty good  Now add some nebulas and such in the background

Oh I’ll be making some animations with this at some point so don’t be suprised if you see a nebula at some point.

Most of what I do is scifi and most of the is Star Trek. I’ve got meshes of the K-7 station, the shuttlecraft, Kahn’s DY-100 ship, and a few other fan based designs, oh and a hand phaser. I’ve posted post of those here at some time or another so just search on threads I’ve started and you’re bound to find some of them.

Further on the textures…

And with the exception of something unforseen these are the textures that are going into the oven. Final layers added to secondary hull and saucer rim now has what I hope is subtle enough weathering.

Looking better and better

Thanks.

OK, wanted to do just one more little test. Here is my official first render of 2007 (not the true first but it does have the new background image with 2007). So anyway…

Pass #2

And one more, just because…

Maybe add a little radiosity to those lights on the top? Great modelling and texturing.

I should probably do something. At some angles they look really nice and at others not so much. In the meantime, one more angle…
