UV animation?

basically what im trying to do is set up a animation so that a UV texture moves on the surface of an object while the object is stationary. For example, ripples moving on the surface of water, a still model shaped like a flame with an animated texture to make it look like its real fire.

does anybody know how this is done? I tried looking around for tutorials but cant find any :frowning:

This is usually done by animating a phase (or time) property of the procedural texture, not the coordinates themselves. But you can, at the texture level, animate the offset of a UV mapped texture.

NOTE: You have to actually render the image sequence to see the results. Press the Animation button under the Render context.
